The Cove is a cosy and vibrant coworking space located in Minehead. Whether you're looking for a place to focus for an hour, a full day, or a longer-term membership, we have flexible options to meet your needs. With coworking desks, a private meeting room (The Hideaway), free tea/coffee, and a laid-back atmosphere, The Cove is the perfect space to work, connect, and create.To enjoy our space, please read and accept the following terms and conditions:

1. Payment and Access

  • Booking:
    Members and non-members can pre-book a desk at The Cove or the private meeting room, The Hideaway, via our website. Walk-ins are welcome, but space is not guaranteed without a reservation.
  • Payment Methods:
    We accept both cash and card payments for drop-in users. Membership payments must be made by direct debit (as outlined in the membership agreement - please come and talk to us about membership options).
  • Prepayment:
    All time spent at The Cove must be paid for either in advance through our website or upon arrival at the front desk.
  • Fees:
    Current fees for desk use, private meeting room bookings, and event hire can be found on our website - www.thecovesomerset.co.uk. The Cove’s coworking space is charged per desk, whereas the The Hideaway can accommodate up to 4 people and is priced by the room.
  • Private Hire for Events:
    For workshops or private events, the entire space is available for hire. Please contact us directly to discuss fees and availability.
  • Refund Policy:
    Refunds are only available with over 48 hours’ notice prior to the booking, or in case of fault or closure by The Cove.
  • Opening Hours:
    We aim to be open Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, these hours are subject to change in the event of unforeseen circumstances. On occasion, it may be necessary to adjust our operating hours or remain closed.

The Cove is managed by two working moms, and there may be times when unexpected events affect our ability to open as scheduled. We kindly ask that you check our website and social media channels regularly for any updates regarding changes to our hours of operation.

Please also note that holiday hours may vary and will be posted online in advance.

2. Facility Use

  • Shared Space Etiquette:
    We ask that all members respect the shared space and fellow coworkers:
    • Keep personal belongings within your immediate desk area.
    • Maintain a professional noise level. If you need to take phone calls, please do so quietly or use the private meeting room.
    • Headphones are encouraged for those using audio.
  • Tea/Coffee Facilities:
    Complimentary tea and coffee are available to all. Please ensure that the space is kept clean and tidy, wipe down any spillages and leave dirty spoons and mugs in the designated area. 
  • Cleanliness:
    We ask that all members and guests leave their workspaces and common areas clean for the next user.
  • Internet Usage Policy:
    Our high-speed Wi-Fi is available to all members. Please refrain from excessive data usage or engaging in illegal activities online. Misuse of the internet will result in disciplinary action.
    • Data Security: Members are encouraged to use personal security measures such as VPNs when handling sensitive information. The Cove is not responsible for any data breaches or unauthorized access to personal or business information while using the shared network.

3. Health and Safety

  • Contagious Illness Policy:
    If you are feeling unwell with any contagious illness, we ask that you refrain from using The Cove to protect others.
  • First Aid:
    A first aid kit is located in The Hideaway for emergencies.
  • Fire Safety:
    In the event of a fire, please evacuate immediately and meet at the assembly point outside the Queens Head (Holloway Street). There are two main exits:
    1. The front entrance onto Holloway Street.
    2. The rear entrance leading to Tythings court.
  • Display Screen Equipment:
    While we strive to provide a comfortable and safe environment, The Cove is not responsible for ensuring compliance with individual companies’ Display Screen Equipment (DSE) regulations. Employers are responsible for adhering to health and safety standards, including DSE assessments, for their own employees. It is recommended that businesses using our space remain compliant with applicable health and safety regulations.

4. Equipment Use

  • Printer Use:
    A communal printer is available for member use. Please refer to the posted fee structure for printing costs.
  • Equipment for Hire:
    Monitors, additional chargers, and other equipment are available to hire. Fees for these can be found in our pricing policy. If you forget any equipment, feel free to ask our team, and we will do our best to assist.

5. Code of Conduct

  • Professional Behavior:
    All members are expected to maintain respectful communication and professional interactions with fellow coworkers, visitors, and staff.
  • Confidentiality:
    The Cove is a shared, professional space where privacy and confidentiality are paramount. Any information overheard or shared within the building must be treated with the utmost discretion and kept confidential. This includes conversations, meetings, and business-related discussions. By using our coworking space, you agree to uphold the integrity of this policy.
  • Harassment Policy:
    Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. If you experience or witness harassment, please report it to management immediately. All reports will be treated seriously, and appropriate actions will be taken.
  • Disciplinary Actions:
    Violations of any policies or disruptive behavior will result in being asked to leave the premises. Repeated offenses may result in membership termination.

6. Sustainability and Environmental

  • Waste Reduction:
    The Cove is committed to sustainability. We encourage all members to recycle, reduce waste, and conserve energy by turning off devices when not in use.

7. Hiring Out the Space

  • Event Bookings:
    We can hire out The Cove at various times during the day and night, offering flexibility for workshops, private events, or other gatherings. Bookings must be made in advance and will require a 10% deposit at the time of booking to secure the space.
  • Event Setup and Cleanup:
    Our team can assist with the setup and takedown of your events. However, hosts are responsible for ensuring that the space is left clean and tidy after use, including removing all food, drink, and event materials.
  • Catering and Food for Events:
    The Cove does not have a full kitchen on-site. However, we can arrange catering for events, or event hosts are welcome to bring their own food and beverages.
  1. Events Held by The Cove
  • At The Cove, we strive to provide the best possible experience for everyone attending our events. However, we understand that plans may change. Below are the terms of our cancellation policy, applicable to both our clients and The Cove: 
    • If The Cove Cancels Your Booking: If The Cove is required to cancel your booking, and will not be rescheduling the event, you will receive a full refund of any payments made.
    • If You Cancel Your Booking: Event cancellations are non-refundable but may be transferable upon request, at the discretion of The Cove.
    • Rescheduling or Postponing Due to Circumstances Beyond Our Control: In the unlikely event that The Cove must reschedule or postpone an event due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, power outages, or other emergencies), attendees will be offered a new date to attend or a gift voucher up to the value of the ticket purchased.

8. Complaint and Feedback Procedures

  • How to Provide Feedback:

  1. Changes to Terms and Conditions
  • The Cove reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Members will be notified of any significant changes via email or through updates posted on our website. Continued use of The Cove’s services constitutes acceptance of any updated terms.

However, please note that Keely Brookes Consulting is not responsible for any personal belongings left unattended. We recommend that all members have their own insurance policies to cover personal items and equipment brought into the space.
  • Liability Disclaimer: 

Keely Brookes Consulting is not liable for any injuries, accidents, or damages that occur while using the facilities. We encourage members to take care when using the space and equipment. Additionally, The Cove is not responsible for any personal belongings left unattended. Members are advised to have their own insurance policies to cover personal items and equipment brought into the space.
